Oh, so topical. Sometimes I get worried that strips like this will lose their impact in later generations. Yet, I was recently given a couple of Bloom County books and several of the strips are topical. It was actually fun reading them and remembering the emotion of the day. There’s something to be said about jarring the memory.
I will leave the Occupy Wall Street opinions to you all.
In any case, this example of the 99 and one has always confused me. Part of me thought that, by leaving, the shepherd would be opening the door for a wolf to come into the flock. Yet scripture doesn’t really say anything about that. So I had to do some deeper thinking.
There is safety in numbers. And, strange as it may sound, many animals of pray don’t like to attack large flocks – they prefer stragglers. When we think about it, attacking a large flock may prove detrimental in that there may be a strong member of that flock that would fight back with intensity.

Always go after the slowest of the herd.
Makes sense. Sometimes the slowest is the fattest.
Ha Ha Ha Good one Jason. The occupy movement has even reached Israel. I did one too last week http://www.mentalpills.com/2011/10/occupy-pub-alley.html
I had my cheese today. But I don’t feel guilty. Sorry, rats.
I love reading topical humor too. Even years after incidents have occurred. It puts things more into perspective I say.
True. And art really does reflect culture, even in a satirical way. I still love to look at old MAD Magazines.
The squeaky sheep gets the grease.
Haha! Talk is sheep.
